Health Benefits of Monoatomic and Colloidal Gold? What is Colloidal Gold?

Health Benefits of Monoatomic and Colloidal Gold?
What is Colloidal Gold?

Gold is a precious metal that has been prized since ancient times and was once thought to contain all of the energy and power of the sun. Colloidal gold is known today as a health supplement that can aid the treatment and lead to improvement in several medical conditions. So what is colloidal gold? It is a suspension of microscopic particles of gold in liquid, usually distilled water. Colloidal gold is also known as nanogold, and the colour of the suspension is usually either a vivid red colour or a sludgy yellow colour if the gold particles are larger

Usually the gold nanoparticles are produced in a fluid by reduction of chloroauric acid. After dissolving the chloroauric acid, the liquid is stirred very quickly as a reducing agent is added. Gradually neutral gold atoms are formed and eventually the fluid becomes supersaturated and gold starts to precipitate in the form of sub-nanometer particles. As more atoms are formed they stick to these particles and the uniformity of the particle size is all down to how vigorously the solution is stirred.

History of Colloidal Gold

The concept or idea of an ‘Elixir of Life’ created from gold has been around since ancient times. The Ancient Egyptians used gold in dentistry and believed that if they ingested the precious metal that their life force would be stimulated and that both their body and soul would be purified. An elixir was created in Alexandria, known as liquid gold, which supposedly could restore youth and vigour to the old and infirm. In Ancient Rome, gold salves were used to heal skin complaints and ulcers and colloidal gold was used to stain glass. The colour of the glass created depended on the concentration of the gold, and the Romans managed to achieve vivid shades of mauve, red and yellow glass by this method.

Gold elixirs for health and beauty were popular in medieval and Renaissance Europe, and Diane de Poitiers, the famous royal mistress of King Henri II of France, was said to have maintained her beautiful white skin and youthful looks well into old age by drinking a gold elixir. The famous alchemist Paracelsus reputedly concocted a potion called Aurum Potabile or ‘potable gold’. As an alchemist, Paracelsus would have believed that it represented ‘the perfection of matter’ and that by taking gold into your body you would be rejuvenating and rebalancing your life force. It was this idea from Paracelsus that encouraged Michael Faraday in 1857 to create what he called ‘activated gold’ and which was the first pure specimen of colloidal gold. In 1898, Richard Adolf Zsigmondy, concocted the first colloidal gold in diluted solution and in the early 20th century, surgeons would sew a gold coin under the skin near a sore and inflamed joint, to help soothe the pain and reduce the inflammation.

Health Benefits of Colloidal Gold

Colloidal gold is used to alleviate the symptoms of several diseases and condition. Medical studies have shown that using it relieves the symptoms of aching, swollen joints that are associated with arthritis. Taking colloidal gold is believed to improve mobility, reduce swelling around the joint and ease the pain of arthritis, as gold is an immune-suppressive and so stifles the autoimmune response and painful inflammation of rheumatoid arthritis. Colloidal gold is also known as an energy and libido booster, as it stimulates the natural cell functions of our bodies. Taking it as a health supplement is also known to help improve mental alertness, as it increases the conductivity between neurons in the brain. In studies, it was shown that people who took colloidal gold daily for a month showed increased ability to concentrate and raised IQ levels. Colloidal gold is also now being used for nervous conditions that involve poor concentration, memory loss, depression, anxiety and problems with language. It can also be taken as a relaxant, as it soothes the nerves and relieves stress.

In the 19th century in the USA, colloidal gold was used as a cure for alcoholism, or dipsomania as it was then called, and is still used today to reduce cravings for nicotine, caffeine, sugar and alcohol. Colloidal gold cream is used as an anti-ageing skin treatment and there are colloidal gold creams available that offer topical pain relief. This precious metal is also used in some modern cancer therapies. Microscopic gold is injected into men suffering from prostate cancer to help prevent the growth of the cancer, and women are given gold solutions as a treatment for ovarian cancer.

As with any dietary supplement or complimentary remedy, you should always consult your doctor before taking colloidal gold if you are taking any prescribed medication or are at all concerned about any possible side effects. Having said that, it is regarded as being non-toxic and as having no reported side effects. Colloidal gold can also be safely taken in conjunction with other pharmaceutical drugs and complimentary remedies. Gold is the only heavy metal that has a right-hand atomic spin, so it is easily tolerated by the human body. However, if gold is present in the human body in unusually high concentrations, it can lead to gold poisoning. The symptoms of this poisoning range from anaemia, resulting in very pale skin, dizziness, nausea, a metallic taste in the mouth, very fine hair and fragile bones and teeth. Gold will accumulate in body tissues over time and can cause damage to bone marrow, the liver and the kidneys. Therefore, physicians generally recommend that arthritis sufferers on gold therapy have regular blood tests to check the levels of this precious metal in their body.

Monoatomic Gold

The concept of monatomic gold, also known as gold powder or white gold powder has been around for thousands of years. For example, the Ancient Egyptians believed that by eating powdered gold that they could gain immortality. White powder gold in ancient times was a substance believed to only be taken by royalty and initiates in the mystery cults, and it was supposed to confer incredible longevity and vitality on those who took it. In the US in the mid-1970’s a farmer called David Hudson discovered a white powder that he believed was monatomic gold while he was trying to extract gold and silver from the tailings of an old mine in Arizona. Hudson alleged that his monatomic gold had some wonderful health benefits and some unusual properties like being a high-temperature superconductor and if heated the correct way being able to levitate as the gold powder then weighed less than nothing. He classified these white gold powders in the 1980 as ORMEs or Orbitally Rearranged Monatomic Elements. David Hudson gained patents for his monatomic gold in the UK and Australia and started equating white gold powder with ‘the elixir of life’, ‘the food of the gods’ and even ‘the philosopher’s stone
